MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING

held on December 12, 2018

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Frank DeMento at 7:35 pm.

The meeting was opened with the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance, said by all.

LOCAL LAW 2 – 2018

Trustee Ceriello presented the proposed amendment to the code which bans the sale of marijuana and marijuana products. It was unanimously decided to continue to discuss this agenda item and present it again at a later date.

JUSTICE REPORT

The Monthly Justice Report for November 2018 was presented by Trustee Sabino stating total fines assessed in the amount of $13,425.

POLICE REPORT

The Police Report for November 2018 was presented by Trustee Sabino, stating 2 Motor Vehicle Collisions (all at the intersection of Norther Boulevard and Port Washington Boulevard), no aided cases, no Burglary-Residence, no Burglary-Business, no Robberies, no Larceny-Auto incident, no Larceny (other than auto) incidents, no Criminal Mischief incidents and a total of 110 summonses (96 movers, 14 Parkers).

BUILDING REPORT

The Building Report was presented by Trustee Sabino, stating that between July 1, 2018 and December 10, 2018, a total of 73 permits have been issued totaling $62,710 in Building Permit Fees.

APPROVE MINUTES

Trustee Sabino made a motion to approve the minutes for the November 2018 meeting, seconded by Trustee D’Angelo and approved by all.

2019 VILLAGE HALL HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

Mayor DeMento read the 2019 Village Hall Holiday Schedule which can be found on the Munsey Park website.

GARBAGE RECYCLING REMINDER

Trustee Ceriello reminded residents that newspaper and cardboard have to be tied up and put in a clear bag in the driveway visible from the street. In addition, metal and glass should be in a recycling can that is either blue or orange. These guidelines are currently on our website and will also be in included in the next VMP newsletter.

EXTENET UPDATE

Trustee Sabino stated that in anticipation of Extenet’s submission of another application, the Village is making a proactive, collaborative effort to work with Extenet on their upcoming proposal. Trustee Sabino will continue to advocate for and inform the residents on the progression of this proposal.

COMMUTER PARKING

Mayor DeMento presented the proposed Section B of Article 1: Traffic and Parking Regulations which would place certain parking restrictions within the Village. After much discussion, Trustee Sabino suggested to deliberate upon this topic further and work towards a closer consensus.

NASSAU COUNTY TAX REASSESSMENT

Trustee D’Angelo stated that Nassau County is in the process of tax reassessment which is an estimate of the fair market value of your home. The Village of Munsey Park adopts Nassau County’s Assessment Roll to calculate the Village Tax Rate. Trustee D’Angelo will keep the Village informed regarding Village taxes as we await the final tax roll from the County.

A Motion to go into executive session to discuss ongoing litigation was made by Mayor DeMento, seconded by Trustee Sabino and unanimously approved. The meeting was adjourned at 8:42 pm
