BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m

 

MINUTES for the meeting of May 11, 2011 were approved as corrected.

 

CLAIMS for May were presented, as detailed in the Abstract of Vouchers in the amount of $15,894.22.  Claims also were present for June as detailed in the Abstract of Vouchers in the amount of $59,516.10.   After review, the Board approved all for payment.

 

JUSTICE REPORT for May, 2011 was submitted and stated revenues in the amount of $7,380.00.

 

POLICE REPORT for May, 2011 was distributed to the Board. During the month of May, the following activity was noted:

 

Auto Accidents 8

Aided Cases 8

Burglary 0

Robbery 0

Larceny 0

Summonses VTL 22 PRKG   27

 

MUNSEY PARK WOMEN’S CLUB

Mrs. Ryan advised the Board that the Village Arborist, Rich Gibney, suggested a few different ideas for the $5,000 donation to the Village.  The best suggestion was to place a waterfall at Copley Pond that would keep the water moving and control the mosquitoes.  The Mayor & the Board of Trustees unanimously agreed that this is a great idea.  Mrs. Ryan will report back to the Board, when it is installed.

 

INTRODUCTION OF LOCAL LAW #1 -2011 -SHEDS

The Village Attorney presented to the Board the draft of Local law #1 - 2011 Section 200-44 of the Village Code is hereby repealed and re-titled and re-enacted as follows:  Section 200-44 “Tool Sheds, Storage Sheds, and Small Accessory Buildings” in the Village of Munsey Park.  The Board discussed the proposed local law and it was moved by Mayor Harry Nicolaides, seconded by Trustee Sheila Brennan and unanimously carried that a public hearing would be scheduled for July 13, 2011 at 7:30 pm on the Local Law #1 -2011.

 

The adoption of the proposed local law under SEQR will not result in any significant adverse environmental impact.  A copy is available for public viewing at village hall.  Motion made by Mayor Harry Nicolaides, seconded by Trustee Sheila Brennan and unanimously carried.

 

The Clerk is directed to provide notice of this public hearing as required, and to forward copies of the proposed local law and SEQRA determination to the Nassau County Planning Commission as required by §239-m of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York.

 

TREE HOUSES

The Building Inspector informed the Village that the New York State Building Code states that anything constructed is deemed a structure.  The tree platform, that created the concern has been removed or fell to the ground,so nothing further needs to be done.

 

SOLAR LIGHT ON FLAGPOLE

Anthony J. DiSanto, architect for Mr. Ken Langone, submitted documents concerning the solar lights location on the flagpole.  After review, a motion was made by Mayor Harry Nicolaides, seconded by Deputy Mayor Albert T. Jaronczyk to approve the installation of a solar light on the flagpole.  The Village Clerk was instructed to advise Mr. Langone of the approval and to also get the necessary proofs of insurances from the installer.

 

 

There being no further business, the meeting was declared adjourned at 9:05p.m.
