MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING

The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m
MINUTES for the meeting of February 9, 2011 were approved as corrected.
CLAIMS for February/March were presented, as detailed in the Abstract of Vouchers in the amount of $71,385.66. After review, the Board approved all for payment.
JUSTICE REPORT for February, 2011 was submitted and stated revenues in the amount of $7,055.00.
POLICE REPORT for February, 2011 was distributed to the Board. During the month of December, the following activity was noted:

KIDS CHARITY RUN
Mrs. Amy Hill appeared before the Board to talk about the Kids Charity Run to be held on June 4, 2011 from 9:00am to 12:00 noon. The route is one mile and ends at Waldman Park. The Board advised Mrs. Hill to make sure that the trash is picked up and that all insurances are in effect. On a motion made by Mayor Harry Nicolaides, seconded by Trustee Peter Puttre, the Board by unanimous vote approved the Kids Charity Run on June 4, 201, on the above conditions.
TENTATIVE BUDGET
The Board discussed the tentative budget and requested that the Village Clerk review the numbers and report back to the Board on the percent of the tax increase and any changes that could be made to reduce further expenditures.
CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH
Mr. Walter appeared on behalf of the Congregational Church to advise the Board that either the Town of North Hempstead or the Manhasset School District will be repairing the sidewalks on the north side of Northern Boulevard. A construction fence will be placed around the perimeter of the church parking lot to insure that mothers and children attending school events will not cross onto the Village property. The contract will be reviewed by the Village Attorney to make sure that the school has indemnified completely the Village. The Village Attorney will report back on any further progress.
PARKING ON RIDGE CRESCENT
Last month there was discussion about “No Parking” signs to be placed on Ridge Crescent. Mr. & Mrs. Babak Nassirian appeared before the Board and presented an original letter signed by all residents who live on the street. On a motion made by Mayor Harry Nicolaides, seconded by Trustee Peter Puttre, the Board voted unanimously that four signs will be placed on Ridge Crescent with “No Parking To Corner” and underneath each sign, a sign with arrows “No Parking 7:00am-11:00am”.
FIVE-YEAR LEASE
The Village Clerk advised the Board that the Village Bank, Capital One, has agreed to enter into a five year lease agreement for the acquisition of the following equipment: (1) F350 truck;(1) Payloader; (1) John Deere lawn tractor; (1) gator and the refurbish of the 1999 truck for a total lease of $90,000. This agreement was also approved by the law firm of Hawkins, Delafield & Wood, LLP. On a motion made by Deputy Mayor Albert T. Jaronczyk, seconded by Mayor Harry Nicolaides instructing the Village Clerk to send a letter to “Capital One” confirming the lease for a five-year term to begin June 1, 2010 and approved by all.
PARKING CHURCH OF OUR SAVIOR
The Village Clerk advised that she had received complaints concerning the parking of movie trucks at the Church. The Village Clerk had been communication with Sony pertaining to parking without permits. The production company will be sending a check for the permit in the amount of $2,500.00..
GARBAGE BID RENEWAL
On a motion made by Mayor Harry Nicolaides, seconded by Peter Puttre to reject all bids and to rebid no later than the end of the month and approved by all.
There being no further business, the meeting was declared adjourned at 9:35p.m.
