The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM.

 

2007 ROAD IMPROVEMENTS

Christopher Clement of Dvirka & Bartilucci reported that the road construction work is coming to an end. Some items on the punch list will have to be completed in the spring of 2008 due to the weather conditions.

                                                     

MINUTES for the meeting of November 14, 2007, were approved as submitted.

 

CLAIMS from December 2007 were presented by the Deputy Clerk. Disbursements as detailed in Abstract of Vouchers were  in the amount of $1,006,553.65, including a claim for rubbish removal of $27,762.50 and road construction of $744,297.93.

 

JUSTICE REPORT for December, 2007 was submitted and stated revenues in the amount of $8,465.00, of which $2,175.00 was for parking. 

 

POLICE REPORT for December 2007 was distributed to the Board.   During the month, 66 tickets were issued (37 for vehicle and traffic violation and 29 for parking). There were 5 auto accidents, 6 aided (other than auto), 0 larceny (other than auto), 1 criminal mischief reports.

 

BUILDING INSPECTOR REPORT for November, 2007 was submitted to the Board.

 

 

COUNSEL REPORT / COURT MATTERS

The Village Attorney had nothing to report at this time to the Board of Trustees.

 

 

VOTING LOCATION

 

The Mayor reported that the Board of Elections is seeking a location to have the primary and presidential elections.  Upon request of Mayor Nicolaides.  The Nassau County Fire Marshall had inspected the Village Hall to see if the Village Hall meets all the safety requirements to have the primary and presidential elections. Mayor reported that the Congregational Church had offered their facilities to hold the primary election and once the Village of Flower Hill Village Hall was completed with renovations, Flower Hill may be able to hold both the primary and presidential elections for the future.   Details will follow once we hear from the Manhasset School District.

The Board and the Building Inspector, Anthony DiProperzio reviewed plans submitted  for the front portico.   The portico was built contrary to the approved plans. After a brief discussion the Board deferred a decision.

 

There being no further business, the meeting was declared adjourned at 9:20 PM.
